River Bend Lodge is home to various Nova Scotia bed & breakfast options as well as the inviting Great Room with its wood-burning fireplace, cathedral ceiling, and enchanting river views. These accommodations are open year round--advance reservation is always required from November 1 to early May.

Recommended by the London Guardian (February, 2009):
A vast tract of forest, rivers and lakes, Nova Scotia's Tobeatic Wilderness Area has been called the "wild soul" of the Maritimes. It's home to black bear, bobcat, moose, river otter and the odd US draft dodger, and when people paddle into it, they can vanish for days. River Bend Lodge, overlooking the Tusket River, is a chalet-style house sleeping up to 14. It's one of the cottages attached to Trout Point Lodge, which is styled on hunting camps of the early 20th century.

Trout Point Lodge Wilderness Resort now open through October 31--canoe, kayak, hot tub, river swimming, cooking classes, guided hiking & kayaking!

From deep within the backwoods of the Tobeatic Wilderness, River Bend Lodge and the Cottages at Trout Point offer serenity & comfort without pretension. Stillness and the enjoyment of nature are the essence of the guest experience. The lodge, cottages, and surrounding grounds offer plenty of space to sit, converse with others, curl up with a book, or simply take in the beauty of nature.

Each day will be as active or still as you desire. Watch the Tusket River from your accommodations as you recline in comfortable surroundings. Outdoor recreation beckons, including river & lake swimming, canoeing, kayaking, mountain bikes, & catch-and-release fishing. Hike the woodland trails of our 100 acre estate & the adjoining public wilderness. At the convergence of the Tusket & Napier Rivers, Trout Point borders the last pristine nature area in Nova Scotia. See bear, moose, turtles, flying squireels, deer, beaver, owls, loons, & eagles. Relax, stroll a nature path, or simply read a book on the porch.
